Turned into one of the most gorgeous, evocative album covers of the era by art director Gary Burden, for one of my all-time favorite albums by anyone, Time Fades Away. I haven’t found a single scan on the interwebz that does justice to the depth of the artwork and design, but this one comes close:
Neil Young, backstage at Royce Hall UCLA, January 30, 1971, by Joel Bernstein. The live recording of the song “The Needle and The Damage Done” recorded at this show is the one on his album Harvest, which was completed in September 1971, but not released until the following February.
Paul McCartney and Neil Young at Desert Trip Weekend 2, October 15, 2016, duetting on “A Day In The Life” and “Give Peace A Chance”. My photos, originally posted at my Instagram. I was easily a quarter-mile away from stage, but taking advantage of a new zoom lens I bought for the occasion, at about 2000mm (and clearly hadn’t yet mastered focusing LOL).
Hey, and ping me if you’re Insta! Happy to follow you there too!
